A study in ornament and contrast.
The shade is crafted from Louis XIV revival brocade velvet with gold thread detailing, rich in ornamental depth and texture. Its gold interior intensifies the warmth of the light, enhancing
the sculptural quality of the fabric.
The base is wrapped in silk & cotton, introducing a softer counterpoint to the weight of the velvet above. A hand-constructed collar, made from specialty paper, creates a sculptural break
between shade and base. Its finishing edge in perforated colored textile adds a subtle graphic tension.
