Table Lamp with Handwoven Cotton & Cross-Stitch (1960s)
Table Lamp with Handwoven Cotton & Cross-Stitch (1960s)
A collectible lighting object where textile heritage meets contemporary form.
The lampshade is crafted from authentic handwoven cotton fabric from the 1960s, finished with delicate handmade cross-stitch embroidery. The figurative motif carries the presence of time — each stitch a trace of handwork and memory.
The base, wrapped in 100% cotton canvas featuring a bold red-and-white printed stripe, introduces a graphic contrast. Tradition and modernity coexist in quiet tension, resulting in a sculptural piece that feels grounded yet unexpected.
Each lamp is entirely one of a kind. Natural irregularities in the vintage textile are preserved intentionally — signs of its lived history and authenticity.
Designed and assembled in Athens.
